Membership Rules & Regulations

1. NAME:

The name of the Association shall be 'The Young Leaders Forum of the IMC'

2. OFFICE:

The Office of the Young Leaders Forum of the IMC will be situated at the IMC Bldg., Churchgate, Mumbai 400 020.

3. OBJECTIVES:

A) Providing inspiration and out-of-the-classroom education through ideas, advice and discussions with leaders across topics and industries

B) Providing a platform for informal interaction with peers in similar age groups and industries

C) Ensuring the highest ethical standards across professions

D) Creating an organized arena for youth to play a socially active role in their communities

E) Playing a regulatory role by seeking reform in conjunction with the IMC

F) Serving as a window to the practical realities associated with business and industry

4. ELIGIBILITY FOR MEMBERSHIP:

Young professionals and entrepreneurs who are interested in the objectives of YLF shall be eligible for its membership. Age group: 22-40. Membership will automatically cease at the age of 40 years. It is required that every member should attend 40% of the official meetings of the Young Entrepreneurs' Wing of the Indian Merchants' Chamber.

5. SUBSCRIPTION:

Every member shall pay in advance total sum of Rs.3,000/- being the Admission fee of Rs.1,000/- and Annual Subscription fee of Rs.2,000/- for the year. The financial year shall be April-March.

6. ADMISSION OF MEMBERS:

The applicant shall apply in the prescribed form furnishing the required details and send it to the Executive Secretary, appointed by the Wing. All applicants for membership shall be placed before the Executive Committee for its scrutiny and approval.

7. APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

A) The Committee shall comprise of Chairperson, Co-Chairperson, Hon. Treasurer, Hon. Secretary and President and the Vice-President of the IMC.

B) The Chairperson, Co-Chairperson, Hon. Secretary & Hon. Treasurer will be appointed by the Managing Committee of the main Chamber.

C) The Executive Committee shall hold a meeting on the last Friday of every month.

8. RESIGNATION:

Members who wish to resign, shall submit their resignation in writing to the Secretary of the Wing. They shall, however, pay the subscription for the year in which the resignation is submitted.

9. CESSATION OF MEMBERSHIP:

A member shall, Ipso facto, cease to be a member if:-

a) Such member fails to pay subscription due from him / her before the end of June every year.

b) Such member resigns by giving written notice to that effect and the resignation is accepted by the Committee.

c) Such member is convicted of an offence under the Indian Penal Code involving moral turpitude.

d) Such member fails to take interest in the activities and is irregular in attendance.

10. PRIVILEGES OF MEMBERS:-

The Wing will meet regularly. A programme of general interest will be organized.

A member of the Wing shall also be entitled to:

a) Monthly Planner of the main Chamber of the IMC.

b) An Invitation to attend all public events organized by the main Chamber of the IMC. All invitation cards will be sent only by email.

c) Free use of the Library of the main Chamber.

d) Access to the Internet on nominal charges

e) Membership Card with photograph.

11. POWER TO FRAME RULES AND REGULATIONS:

The Managing Committee of IMC shall have the power to frame from time to time such Rules & Regulations as they think necessary for the purpose of managing the affairs of the Chamber which they are empowered to do and to alter, add or to amend the same from time to time.

12. In case of any interpretation of rules, the President's word shall be final.
